Sandy had noticed an old railway sign discarded in some bushes by Jimera and he was keen to take it home, the problem was that is was bolted to a post which was set in a load of concrete. It was decided that we'd walk the dogs along the track and acquire the sign, we took spanners etc with us to facilitate the removal of the sign.
The sun was out and the temperature was high, we walked along to the sign and unbolted it, we left it in the undergrowth so that we could drive back and collect it. We walked back, letting the dogs swim for a bit on the way and got the car and drove back to get the sign. When we got home we realised that there was no way on earth that it would go in his case so we'll bring it home with us. We headed up to Jimera looking for a bar but the only one we could find was one that did not take dogs. Sandy had a look round the town Hall.
We spent the rest of the day eating and drinking and packing cases. There wont be a blog for a few days as I return to the UK tomorrow to photograph a Wedding in Perth, normal service will resume on Monday.
Sandy treated us to a nice meal at Santiagos, he was on his own and very busy, eventually he had to call his wife for help, she was not amused but got stuck in. The foods always better when she cooks it! Sandy kept us entertained with some advice on what one should know when visiting a foreign country, the 3 phrases are :
- Which way to the airport
- My friend is paying
- What is your tarriff Madam
We'll learn them for our trip home.

Hi Angus and Susan. Thanks for a great holiday. Good food, good wine, good company and a feast of pretty "white villages" that I never tired of looking at. Love your dogs, they were so well behaved.
If anyone is reading this blog, I thoroughly recommend renting their super house in the wonderfully situated Cortes de la Frontera.
