Tuesday and Wednesday

Tuesday

We had a short walk planned for today, between Benamahoma and El Bosque. We startd at El Bosque, had coffee in the square then set off up the river towards Benamahoma. It was a lovely day and the river was running slowly which is good news for the dogs.

Susan, Mum and the dogs stopped to examine the very small trout in the river, it is a very clean river and popular with fishermen in the season.

Being from Scotland we were very interested in these huge thistles, Sandy took one home to get the seeds from it.

There is a woden walkway on this stretch of the walk, we used it to put the camera on it for a team photograph.

We found lots of places where the dogs could swim, they really love this kind of day out.

We think this might be barley or wheat, not sure which one, it was huge though.

The edge of the river was covered in these red roots, soaking up water for the plant life by the rivers edge.

Stopping for a break by the rivers edge.

Fighting over a stick which is no larger than a large blade of grass.

One of the few shots that include me.

On the way back we stopped for more thistles and to photograph the wild flowers in the fields.

We stopped in Ubrique, I bought a new rucksac, Sandy bought a wallet and then we had Ice cream. We had parked the car on a really steep slope, when we returned we found a Spanish car parked so close that I could hardly get out, rocking back and forth I could smell the burning clutch as I tried to get the car out. Spanish drivers are so inconsiderate, I was seriously thinking about letting his tyres down.

We drove home, quick change then out for dinner at El Hacho near to Gaucin, the service was pretty poor but the food was good.

WEDNESDAY

Mum, Susan and I headed to Ronda for Sunglasses for me and fags for Mum. We left Sandy to look after the dogs and Susan drove us to Ronda. We walked up the main street, I haggled for the Sunglasses and managed to reduce the price by a whole 7 euros - wow! I also wanted shorts so headed to Intersport, the had a good slection but I had gone off the idea by then. We had Ice Cream on the way back down the street then wandered over to the Spar shop for a few bits and pieces then went to get fags for Mum.

Home for Lunch then on to Gaucin for a walk round, Sandy has never been to Gaucin before so we wanted to let him have a look.

Home for Sausage casserole with Kirsty and Richard's sausages.

Purely for Gordon and Hilary, we stopped in the Spar shop for a few things. It's not as nice as Gordons spar shop but the young lady behind the till was very pleasing on the eye!

It would be impossible to get any closer to the wall than this driver.

There is a Gecko competition going on in Gaucin at the moment, they are all numbered and you have to vote for the best one.

Susan spotted this window, it had a chicken and a cat in the window. The cat wanted to be friendly with the chicken but it got pecked, it was very odd to see these 2 living so close together.
