Happy Birthday to Me

Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday dear Angus
Happy Birthday to me.

Did you guess, it's my birthday today, thanks so much to all the people that sent cards, I got more here than I would have back at Home.

Dan is on the mend, he managed all round the Olive Groves with no hassles and no limping so he must be on the mend. His paw has cracked open to reveal the new skin below, he likes to sit and chew the old skin off, sorry if you have just eaten your dinner!

This is his paw, the old skin peeling away to reveal the new pad underneath. Susan is still talking about little leather Booties. They are at John and Jennys today as we had planned a trip to Jerez, that was cancelled as we slept in (late night) and didn't feel we could do it justice. So, instead we are going to look round a few of the white village to the North of Ronda.

On the way past Ronda we spotted this field of poppies, it looked very photogenic so Susan pulled over and I clambered over a fence and through a quarry to get to the field, I think it was worth it.

We carried on to Arriate, a little town near to Ronda, we had been here before on a house hunting trip but we didnt stop. It's a nice little town, very clean. We had a walk round and had a drink in a bar. On the way we noticed this street sweepers odd shovel, he has made a shovel from a water container. Very ingenious!
Arriate town square.

We went into the Church, it was surprisingly nice, very modern and clean. They took money raising to the extreme, instead of lighting a candle and leaving a coin, you put the coin in a slot in a box and a little light came on for 24 hours, kind of takes the thought away.

We drove onto Setenil, this is a nice town where many of the houses are built in caves in the ground. It was quieter than the last time we had been here.

Taken from the road above the town,

Dont know what type of programme this guy was watching but he had a fair number of dishes.

We had lunch in the town centre, menu del dia for 7 euros each, very nice too.

We drove onto Montecorto, a white village near the Seville Road. We have never been in the town before. As it was my birthday I was allowed on the playpark for 5 mins - what fun!

We saw this lovely little kitten near a house in the town, when we were photographing it the owner came out to say hello. She pointed out that there were nice views to be had at the top of the town so we headed up there.

Right enough we spotted some nice views, there is a water channel that runs right through the town from the well at the top. It looked very fresh and clean. We had a coffee then headed home, a nice birthday.

In the evening we went to Ronda with John and Jenny for dinner, it is their Wedding Anniversary this week so we had a joint celebration. We found a lovely restaurant - it was a very enjoyable evening.

This is what the dogs were doing when we were away.
