Mr Hendersons Railway

The day started with a long lie, we have planned to do Mr hendersons Railway walk today - we think Helen will enjoy it and we dont have to be at the train until 1.30. We went into town to find some kind of tie for the duvet covers, when they come back from the Laundry the buttons are broken so we thought about putting a bit of velcro or a tie of some sort.

In Town a bird crapped on my hand so we went straight round and bought a lottery ticket, hopefully by next week we'll be rich!

We drove to the station and had the same conversation with the same man about the dogs, the first time we took them he said to buy a ticket on the train so we all got on for nothing, the second time he only charged for us and not the dogs but his time he said the dogs had to be muzzled, I think he makes the rules up as he goes along. We just said yes no problem and paid for the tickets. The dogs got their own tickets, they cost 75 cents.

The dogs were chucked onto the train - we only get 1 minute to get on, they were a bit happier this time but still not really comfortable.

At the other end we ate in the little bar at the station, the man had a scotland T Shirt on so we had a chat with him.

We set off the usual way, it wa probably the wrong time to do this walk, it was baking hot and very still, we all drank loads of water and found the heat quite oppressive. Still very enjoyable.

I know the top ones are poppies - any ideas on the rest!

We let the dogs run about in a stream for a bit as it was really hot for them too.

The hillside is covered in wild flowers, it really is beautiful to see but we understand that this can only get better in early May so we cant wait.

Susan and Helen in the shade, we stopped in most shady areas for water and rest.

Even Ben sat in the shade. They were tired when we finished. We met a British family who were all very elegantly dressed and had 2 or 3 yorkies with them. They got a little lost at the end and last we saw they were walking along the railway line trying to catch the dogs. We half expected to see thr train arrive in the station with a Yorkie splattered to the front.

Showers then out for dinner, an early start tomorrow.

I think that the light blue flower is Linum Bienne Pale Flax and the pink one Geranium Sylvaticum Wood Crainsbill
