It's Jerez today, famous for Sherry but today (in fact this week) is festival. We chose today as this is Dia de Las Mujeres, the day of the Women so we were confident we'd get lots of photographs of young ladies in frocks. It was quite a long drive, just under 2 hours so we set off earlyish and Susan drove.
We parked on the main road into town by a sports shop so we wandered in for a look round, I almost bought a new rucksac but changed my mind at the last minute. We agreed to go back on the way home. We walked the last 1km into town and found the ring where some sort of Dressage competition was going on.

The horses were stunning and the riders all seemed to know what they were doing, it was pleasant for a while but it could have become boring after a few days - they all did the same routine.

We walked back across the road to the main park where the Ladies would be parading, aparently almost every woman from the city dresses up and parades round the park. We bought Ice cream from a raod side vendor - it was surprisingly tasty.
Impromptu flamenco dancing seemed to break out in bars and cafes around the park, some were younf and soem were old - some were very old.
These 2 young girls agreed to pose for us.

These 2 not quite so young girls agreed to pose with them too.

A bunch of women appeared with a drum, they certainly seemed to be having fun.

These girls were all handing out fans with some logo on it, they were obviously models of some sort, not an ugly one amoungst them.

Occasionally the boys get dressed up too, even these really young ones.
Susan and Helen with the free fans, lots of companies were handing out fans for free but we only took these.
I only wanted to photograph the one on the left but her friends joined in, I could hardly say no not you - just her!

More slightly older flamenco dancers, they were certainly having fun.
The only disappointing thing about the day was the food, there were hundreds of restaurants to chose from but the one we ended up in was pretty expensive and not very good.
We walked back to the sports shop where Susan bought a new pair of shoes and a T shirt, I looked again at the rucksac but again decided against it. It was a good journey home.
Before we left today I set the web cam to take a photograph of the sitting room every 10 minutes to see what the dogs got up to when we were out, I can report that they do - Nothing, apart from sleep and occasionally change sofas.
