Cycling!

Today we had a big day planned, we had planned to go to the Via Verde to cycle along it for a bit. As we drove into the car park Susan said, "wouldn't it be funny if it was closed", no not really - but it bloody was, the only day in the week and we happened to choose it! So the Mountain bikes could not be hired and the nice lunch could not be had. We decided to walk along a little way anyway to give the dogs a good walk.

We got pacled up and set off along the old railway line.

This is Helen and I just at the start.

The first thing we came across was a tunnell that was 400 meters long, thankfully it had lights that came on as you entered the tunnell but after a while they went off so we had to fumble around for one of the switches. It must be timed for a biker not a walker.

The walk was really good, flat and easy going, we walked a total of 10 km. There was a few bridges to cross but they were all ok. This is Susan and Helen on one of the bridges.

Helen Marching out with her trousers rolled up! We walked out 5km then stopped for a Banana and a drink then turned and walked back again.

As we were early we decided to drive over to Zahara and Grazalema to let Helen see them, we also needed lunch. We had lunch in Zahara in a bar, the food was not great but Ben found a girlfriend at the next table, he strained against his lead staring at her and crying.

We walked up the hill to the main town, had a walk round and an ice cream.

This is all of us In Zahara, the sky had been clouded by thin clouds but it was still warm.

We drove out of town towards Grazalema, a really twisty road with loads of switchbacks. We stopped at the viewpoint and walked up to get a look over the countryside.

We think this is an eagle of some sort so if anyone knows please do tell!

We found Grazalema easily, parked in the square and took this pic by the viewpoint. We walked round a bit and stopped for a drink in a bar, Ben spotted his girlfriend at the next table, we exchanged Holas with the owners and let them have a sniff of each other, I hope they dont think we're following them just for the dog. We headed off towards Ubrique and home.

As we arrived in Ubrique we spotted a car wash and decided to use it, we drove into the grage only to find the care wash was closed but at the pump was the couple with the dog, it must have looked odd us pulling in then shooting off again, I am sure they think we're following them.

We stopped in Lidle for a few things then on home for dinner.
