Mothers Day

http://www.holiday-spain.biz/

It's Mothers day today, well it is in the life of Angus, as we were away when Mothers Day took place, we'd promised that this would be Mothers Day. We started with a quick drive over the valley to Gaucin, the site of various tantrums in the past from Darrell, thankfully there was no mention of Lemons and no chucking of shopping down the street.

We saw this lemon tree, unfortunately it was in someone's garden so we could not nick them for the gin and tonic. The sky was blue despite waking up to cloud, wind and rain.
The girls in Gaucin with the Med, Gibralter and Africa in the background.

We had a nice walk round Gaucin in the sun, it's a maze of twisty windy streets and very easy to get lost. We found our way to a nice bar where we sat outside and had coffees with the dogs.

This little dog came by for a look, we thought it looked like a Lion, it was interested and frightened at the same time. What a shame shaving a dog to make it look like this.

We headed back for Lunch on the terrace in the sun, it was very relaxing. Then we left for Ronda, on the way we stopped at a viewpoint to take this photograph. This is the path we took yesterday, you can see the little house from yesterday's photograph in the middle of the picture.

This is us squinting into the sun at the viewpoint.

There is a great ice cream shop in Ronda, I always go for a cup of ice cream when I am there. Being behind the camera has its advantages, I very rarely get my pic on the blog but Susan took this one of me enjoying the ice cream.

We parked in the usual place and walked round Ronda, the streets were quiet as the tour buses had left for the day and the dinner crowd had not arrived yet. The sun was dropping in the sky creating nice shadows on these houses on the outskirts of Ronda.

This old man was digging over this field, he looked very fit, to do this you'd have to be, it was a hell of a slope and he had a long way to go.

The mountains to the west of Ronda, looking towards Cortes

Mum, Susan and Margaret by a viewpoint in Ronda, the sun was creating lovely warm light again.

The spire of Ronda cathedral bathed in late afternoon sunlight.
We left ronda by walking through the park Blas Infantil and back to the car park. The streets were getting busier as people began arriving for dinner. We drove onto Hotel Molino del Puente, a lovely Mothers day meal finished yet another great day.

Hi Hils, Yes I did enjoy the ice cream, however I've found a better shop down by the coast today. Hope you are well, we've looked after your Mother well!
