The first visitors

Me, Susan and Margaret after a lovely meal

We now think this this might be a wild iris, according to Margaret!

Mum and Margaret arrived today, we had agreed to meet them at Malaga at 2.45 but we were slightly late as we had been in Ikea, they were an hour early as Globespan had given them wrong info. I didnt think it would take 5 hours to get here. They had flown from Edinburgh to Glasgow first of all then taken off again to Malaga. Margaret made us laugh with her story of how the pilot had told them they would be turning left at Cumbernauld, she reckons she can take over if anything goes wrong, so long as she is near Cumbernauld that is!

The flight seemed to be fine and they were impressed with the service. A chap sitting next to them was scared of flying but I think Mum and Margaret put him at rest with their banter.

We had a walk round the village, went to the bank and figured out why we could not get any money out, aparently their is a limit set on our account that we cant take out more than 300 euros in a week, the friendly manager who still greets us by name every time we go in soon got it fixed and we were good to go. It amazes me that in 4 years that Manager still knows us by name and greets us every time with a handshake, now why cant banks in the UK be more like that?

Flush with cash we headed to the butcher to get some pork for tonights tea and then the market for some fruit and herbs. On the way we noticed an English man (notice English and not British) shouting and swearing at anyone he could. This is really bad for the other Brits in town as it gives us all a bad name and I was very glad to see him in the back of a Police Car later in the morning.

We set off for Malaga at 11 and stopped at Ikea for a few things, as usual we suddenly had the urge to chuck into the yellow bag an assortment of items that we really dont need but we somehow can't live without, it is no wonder that the family that own Ikea are so rich.

Malaga airport is the usual melee of building works and traffic diversions, as a result we could not find a car park and ended up driving round and round, Mother called and we picked them up at arrivals, they were chucked in the back of the car pretty quickly and we headed off home. It was a quick and painless journey, the dogs were pleased to see her!.

We took them for a walk round the olive groves, they were very keen on the various animals that we saw on the walk, chickens, peacocks, pot bellied pigs, guinea fowl and a horse.

A lovely dinner cooked by Susan rounded off a nice day.
