We had planned to set up the web cam on the dogs then leave them here but we hadn't squeezed the pus from Dans abscess and Susan was sure I was not squeezing the right place. We got him on his back and Susan squeezed his jaw, suddenly a load of blood and gunge shot out and landed all over Susans white shirt as well as the pillow case on the sofa, it was very amusing - for me anyway.

We drove out to the romarea, wandered about for a bit and had a drink in the bar. It was not very exciting, we were probably too early for any real activity. We listened to the band for a bit, watched an old woman trying to Flamenco then wandered round the stalls that sell tat. There was a little girl eating a bit of bread, she really wanted to talk to Dan but was frightened, she walked by him all the time waving this bit of bread round, the poor dog was almost beside himself thinking he was going to get the bread - he never did.

The Romarea is overlooked by the Virgin, she was dragged up the road on Friday afternoon by the villagers, it's almost 5 miles so a big job.

Today is open syudio day in Gaucin, it is a village with loads of artists, scupltures and photographers and occasionally they have open days where you can follow a map round the village looking at the studios and the work. It is a good way to see Gaucin as well as the houses they live in. The work is normally good too!
We visited 4 studios, 2 photographes and 2 lithographers, it was very good, the town was quiet and it was good to chat to the artists, many of them are English with a few Germans, Americans and other nationalities, no Spanish though!
