Haircut

All pictures added later:
We turned left and walked along the beach towards the main part of the complex.

I guess these are the original houses, some interesting colours and architecture, most of them seemed empty.
I soon hit the river and decided against wading so turned back to the car, we had walked about 30 mins total by this time.

There are security cameras everywhere.
Turned and walked the other direction - notice Gib and the riff mountains - it was totally deserted. Walked for 2 hours snon stop throwing the ball until they destroyed it and it sank.

After I collected Susan we walked round the main port, it's just like an American complex

Onto the main beach by the port.

Some huge boats here and very quiet, we stood out like sore thumbs .

The harbour building.

On our way to La Linea we stopped at this viewpoint, down to the left is where David has his other house.

We woke early , it's a big day and the nervs have set in, Susan tries a new hairdresser and I am very nervous, if she is not happy my life will be hell, have you ever tried living with a woman that is not happy with her hair?

I awake at 6am and do a little work on the leaflet that Ian is designing for my Wedding Photography, Susan gets up, I walk the dogs and then we all set off to Sotogrande. We stopped in gaucin at the laundry to collect the sheets but it is closed, it is open at 4pm in the afternoon so we'll stop on the way back.

We drive down and find the place quite easily, I leave Susan in the hands of some hairdresser and try to find the beach to walk the dogs. Sotogrande is a gated community where some seriously rich people live, some of the houses change hands for over £5 million and I can't imagine one selling for less than a few hundred thousand. It is basically a town with a wall round it, to get in you have to go through gates past security guards. It reminds me of Miami, perfect lawns, palm trees, it is quite odd - easy to imagine being anywhere else in the world, many of the houses are designed with an American theme. Stepford Wives is probably accurate.

I found the beach quite easily, where I joined it was right on the edge of the complex so turning left took me into the complex and right took me along the beach towards Gibraltar. I walked towards the complex a bit but eventually found that to get on I'd have to wade a river, not into that. I turned back and went on towards Gibraltar, I had 2 hours to fill so I walked for 1 hour out - quite a way, then turned and walked back. The dogs loved it. The Sun was splitting the sky.

I met a very posh lady with her dog, she was obviously a Brit (like most people here) and she asked if I lived here, when I told her we had a house in the mountains she looked at me with a degree of Pity. She was telling me that her husband plays golf every day and she walks the dog then they meet in the Club for G&T at 2pm.

I drove up to collect Susan, success she was happy so all is well. We drove down to the Marina for a walk, walked along the beach a bit, round the harbour looking at some huge boats - one called Carinna was so big, it has 28 staff and only carries 12 guests, an on board helecopter, private theatre, various other boats that appear from underneath like James Bond and other toys. I understand that it belongs to the guy that owns Sotogrande.

We drove along the coast and found a little cafe for a sandwich, the woman was nice to the dogs so we gave her a big tip, had ice cream across the road then drove to Carefour La Linea for a few things. We like this shop as we can park underneath where it is cool.

Drove back via Gaucin to collect the laundry and then home for dinner, a really good day and the dogs are tired. Tried to talk to Telefonica to figure out why the internet is costing so much with no success.

There appears to be a problem with the blog site and I cant upload pictures, I'll add them to the bottom of the post when it is working.
