Susan drove and did really well, we stopped at the Laundry in Gaucin to hand in the sheets and duvet covers. On the way she had been worrying about how to ask for the sheets to be cleaned. To me it was pretty clear, if you walk into a laundry with a bag of dirty sheets, it's pretty obvious that you want them cleaned!
Susan was planning on driving to the border and then handing over to me as neither of us have driven in Gib before and the traffic is pretty bad. Anyway, she decided to drive right to the car park at Morrisons where you can get 3 hours free parking - she did well to get us there.
We had pizza for lunch then went up to the pet shop to get a tuggy for the dogs. The shop had 2 lovely kittens for sale - we were tempted. Susan went off to markies, I had planned to go and take photographs in the Botanic Garden but the weather was putting me off as the rain had started. So, I wandered round the old streets up the back of the high street.

I walked up the steps to the higher level and had a walk round the small shops there but I didn't buy anything. A wet and deserted Casemates Square.
These are the old buildings above Casemates and just off the Rock. They date back to the 1800s
This one was 1881, I liked the old doorway - like the Jaunty Angle?
Up behind the main street is full of nice old buildings, small cafes and odd shops. The cafes are frequented by local people, we must eat there sometime.
We went to collect the car at Morrisons, stopped in for a few things like Nice cheese and dog food then drove back across the border which was very busy. We had to queue for about 20 mins to get through.
The drive back up to the village was easy and quiet. We didnt need any dinner after a big lunch, watched the apprentice and early to bed. See what the weather is doing tomorrow.
