You may remember that we have been having trouble with the chimney making a noise when it is windy. We noticed Juan Carlos from next door was around so Susan wet and tried to explain what the problem was and could he help. He didn't understand so his poor girlfriend was roused from her bed and dragged down to translate. I dont think she was very happy. Eventually he sussed out the problem and said we needed a different type of cowling and he would be happy to fit it for us free. He clambered onto the roof and removed the chimney. He then said I should drive him someplace, I'd no idea where but we got in the car and off we went. It was just to the builders merhant at the edge of town. We ordered the new cowl and headed home. On the way I was trying to make conversation, and he mis understood me. When we got home he got his poor girlfriend again and she kept saying did I want to go and view the apartment for my friend. I had no idea what he was on about. It transired that when we were making conversation he had asked me if I was interested in the apartment he had just built and aparently I had said my friend was interested in it! We got it sorted out and he's still going to fit the new chimney.
We drove to Gibraltar and into Morrisons, you are only allowed 3 hours and after that you get clamped and there was a car that had been clamped so we left the car with the intention of moving it later. We walked into town via the American Steps.

We met up for Ice Cream, had a walk round the main street then went to Morrisons for a few things, stopped for Petrol. Petrol has gone up a but to 67p per litre, it might be due to Grangemouth! We drove back to Carefour to get some Dog Food then home. We went next door for Tapas so that we could tick another of Helens requests.

Was interested in the photograph of the gates of the Alameda Gardens. They were opened in 1816 at the instigation of Lieutenant-Governor George Don (born in Edinburgh 30 April 1756)who wished to provide a scenic walk for residents and visitors to Gibraltar. In the Gibraltar Botanical Gardens these aims have been expanded to include the appreciation of the value of plants and the importance of their conservationar.
