Easter Saturday

It's Easter Saturday, but I guess you already know that! We had a long lie as it had been a long day yesterday. Had breakfast then went out to get some shopping in case the shops were not open tonight. We bought veg and fruit in the market (Margarets old man still hands out free oranges), meat from the butcher - huge queue so had to take a number and go back. Then onto Dia for the other bits and pieces.

Then Susan and I took the dogs out to the forest, we walked the usual way up the track for 2km then back to the car, it was a cold day and up in the mountains it was quite misty but the dogs enjoyed the walk and it was good to get out on our own for a while.

We made the dogs run back and forward along a track feeding them treats at either end, it was good to get them to run for a while and it tired them out. This is Susan trying to encourage them to run to her.
At the house where we had been pesterded by the cat a while back we noticed a small collection of 4 cats, they were a bit interested but left us alone, I still think Ben sees a small Collie when the black and white one comes along.

On the way back we were confronted by a collection of piglets with 2 older ones, assume Mum and dad. The owner was herding them along the road with a bit of twig. His wife was driving along the road in front with her hazzard lights on to warn on coming drivers. I wonder what would happen if an ambulance came along! They were very cute, I think he was herding them to the farm where there are hundreds of pigs but it was a good few miles along the road so he was in for a long walk.
We called Alex and asked him to make some sandwiches for Lunch as we had planned to go out to El Colmenar through the cork forest after lunch.

We drove through the forest, on the way we saw this horse with a foal, she was very protective to the foal but it was very cute. The horse looked very under nourished - see her bones sticking out in the photograph. I have a feeling that we'll be out here with hay sometime for them.

We stopped in El Colmenar for a drink, it was very busy with cyclists and walkers, we had a wander round the town, saw a train coming in then drove up to Gaucin.
It was our intention to stop in Gaucin for a walk but we could not find a space to park so we headed off after a petrol stop.
The chicken man was open so dinner was spit roast chicken and chips - delicious.
