Another Sunny Day

Our first full day alone, we had a long lie after a good sleep. We'd decided to take the dogs back to the cork forest, we like this walk and it is good for the dogs, they can run along the tracks in relative safety - although the park workers do drive at great speed along the tracks but we normally hear them coming.

We saw this old tree with ivy growing out of it, no doubt when it's fully grown it will be very nice.

A fair bit along the track we spotted this flower, no idea what it is so if anyone knows please let us know.
Dan rolls around in the dirt on this walk then lies in the shade, he seems very happy with the bits of leaf stuck to his face.

For once we didnt have any foreigners driving along the track asking us which was the road to Cortes but we did see lots of Griffon Vultures as well as another large bird - we dont know which bird it is.

There are 2 dogs that live in a house along the track, they bark and make a lot of noise but when you get close to them they are quite frightened and never come close to us. This one is a bitch and Ben was quite interested in it.

On the way back we had to go round the by pas, Cortes main road is now a one way south bound only, when driving north through the town it is now necessary to go round by the new development. We stopped to have a look, there has been no work here since we arrived so that makes us wonder if the sales are slow and the developers have stopped work for now. Here is a photograph of the advertising sign. They look nothing like this at the moment.

We drove back to the house then left the dogs to go into town for coffee and a few things for dinner. We went to Santiagos, he has been practicing his English so was able to tell me that what I had ordered for Susan was a Coffee White - Almost Santiago!
We walked to the Lottery shop to get our winning tickets for this Fridays draw then on to Dia for a few bits of veg. Susan tried to get the Hoover bags that she had ordered last week but they were the wrong size and it appears that the hoover we have is discontinued and bags are no longer available, I feel a new hoover coming on!
We also went to the Pharmacy to get the injections for the dogs in case they get involved with Processionary Caterpillars, the needle is very big and I expect that if we ever have to use it I'll faint and Susan will have to deal with it.
We walked back and had lunch on the roof, it got a bit windy so we came indoors where the washing and ironing carried on. Later in the afternoon we walked the dogs back up the olive groves and home for dinner.
There must be a bitch in heat because Ben is acting very odd, he is howling and constantly sits on the balcony staring at the road, he is also showing an unhealthy interest in Dan, Dan is very scared about tonight.
