We decided on a quiet day, Mum wanted to spend a day with the dogs, she was feeling guilty that we left them for pretty much a whole day yesterday. We started off with a walk into town to Santiagos restaurant where we had coffee, followed quickly by wine. A few dogs arrived to say hello and Santiago was very kind and brought over a large bucket of water for the dogs. It was promptly knocked over in the excitement. Margaret and I went to buy potatoes in the veg market, the usual wee man gave Margaret an orange so I asked him to pose for a photograph and he was keen to oblige. Margaret and him have formed a very close friendship. I'll drop a couple of prints in to him when we get a printer. On the way back we had a stop by Dia to get a few things for lunch and dinner.
Lunch was on the roof terrace followed by a session of book reading and another walk with the dogs. Nafeica had told us of a place round the back that serves spit roast chicken so we wandered by and had a look, it is the most bizarre place, basically somebodys garage but totally spotless and all geared up for spit roasting chickens. We ordered a large one and agreed to go back in an hour. When we went back to collect it we were very impressed, it's like KFC but much better. We ended up with 2 chickens and french fries. Very tasty and good value, we'll be back.
